The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Technical Training modules are aimed at people who wish to enter both the onshore and offshore renewable energy sectors. It is an excellent entry point for people who have no previous experience in hydraulic, mechanical or electrical systems.
It is also ideal for those who have some knowledge in these areas in but wish to upskill to work in the wind turbine industry.
The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) is an association of Wind Turbine owners and manufacturers with the aim of supporting an injury-free work environment in the wind industry. An objective of GWO is to develop common industry training and best practice Standards for health and safety as a vital and necessary way forward to reduce risks for personnel in the wind industry working on site and to reducing environmental risks across Europe and the globe.
Anyone wishing to work on a GWO members property (Wind Turbine Generators, substations, etc.) must complete the GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) courses.
The GWO Basic Technical Training modules can be taken separately and in any order you wish. It is, however, beneficial to complete module 1 first.
Upon completion of the 3 modules which make up GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT), delegates will possess an awareness of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems, preparing them for working both on and offshore in the renewable energy sectors.
